TRANSPORT for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has published a list of events that are likely to cause travel disruptions in the next eight weeks.
All 14 events, including football matches, cricket matches, festivals and concerts, take place between this weekend and the end of September.
And eight of these take place either partially or entirely in Trafford.
Now almost all restrictions have been lifted, the events can welcome crowds at full capacity.
This has led TfGM to warn people of the likely impact on travel in the area.
Sean Dyball, Head of Customer Experience at TfGM, said: “After 18 months I am pleased to announce that the events are again taking place in the Greater Manchester area.
“We’ll be posting a lot of customer information on our website and through our social media channels to help people make informed travel decisions, but with crowds of this size, we know roads and public transport will be busier than ever a very long time ago.
“We work closely with organizers and operators to keep people moving, but whether they’re going to an event or not, the most important thing people can do to make sure their trip goes as smoothly as possible is must be checked and planned in advance. ”
Mr Dyball highlighted Manchester United’s next two games as a particular challenge due to the ongoing work on the roads and the Metrolink.
But other events include cricket matches for Manchester Originals and England at Emirates Old Trafford, as well as the Great Manchester Run.
Part of the half-marathon route and almost all of the 6-mile (10-mile) distance of the run is in the Old Trafford area.
There is also a gig for The Courteeners on the cricket ground on September 25th.
While TfGM hopes to keep its network going, it encourages people to walk and bike if possible.
