A man was arrested after a police officer sustained facial injuries during a protest outside Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old Prenton man, Wirral, is also being held on suspicion of wounding, violent disturbance and burglary.

The Premier League game was postponed for security reasons after fans lit torches, broke into Old Trafford and stormed the pitch.
A number of police officers were injured during the demonstration, Greater Manchester Police said.

One officer suffered a “significant cut on his face“and required emergency hospital treatment.
Superintendent Caroline Hemingway said: “Following the events at Old Trafford and The Lowry on Sunday May 2nd, a full investigation has been launched to ensure that all guilty parties have been identified and that appropriate consequences have been taken.

“Although we currently have a man in custody, we continue to appeal to the public with information or video from the day to contact the police.
“We are aware that several people filmed the incident. Therefore, we encourage anyone with good quality footage to upload the portal for important incidents or to contact them urgently.”
