There is no doubt that Manchester United had a successful summer transfer window, but that only adds to the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjær to deliver trophies in 2021/22.

It is undoubtedly a big season for Solskjaer who is expected to deliver not only a title fight but also some silver medals after disappointment over losing in the Europa League final last season.

Manchester United’s odds of winning the 2021/22 Premier League title are 13/2 with Grosvenor Sport.

Given the strength of rival Manchester City chasing Premier League stars like Harry Kane and Jack Grealish, is it reasonable to expect a title attack this season?

It’s a daunting task, but given the quality of United’s summer acquisitions, a title challenge from Solskjær is certainly the least likely.

City to win the league and United to finish second is a 9/2 chance with Grosvenor Sport, which is a little appealing. The most favorable results in this particular market are the City / Chelsea and City / Liverpool options.

However, it is Solskjær’s inability to get a trophy across the line that is likely to be of greatest concern to United fans at the moment.

The 2021 Europa League final was coming up for United, and it’s a serious concern that the team largely missed out on the biggest game of the season.

Should United get off to a slow start, Solskjær will quickly be in the spotlight as it enters the season as a 12/1 shot in Grosvenor Sport’s sack race.

Still, there is undoubtedly fresh optimism for the new season and there is no doubt that United’s two big summer signings will significantly strengthen their first team.

The arrival of Jadon Sancho offers Solskjær a number of offensive options and the nagging question of who should support Harry Maguire at the heart of the defense is now definitely resolved as United have secured Raphaël Varane’s signing.

The only remaining problem at Old Trafford that could negatively impact Manchester United’s odds is the future of Paul Pogba, who has reportedly turned down a new deal offer with the Reds.

There is a chance that this uncertainty could spill over into the new season which would be challenging for Solskjær, but apart from Pogba there is a positive vibe at Old Trafford that has been lacking since Sir Alex Ferguson’s resignation.

So much so that Solskjær, whose team is 33/100 in Grosvenor’s top 4 betting list, a place in the top 4 is a must.

Manchester United’s odds of winning a trophy this year are 9/4, while the chance of the Reds hitting two pots in 2022 is 11/1.

It may be asking a lot for one of those awards to be the Champions League, especially since United couldn’t even exit the group stage last season, but Manchester United’s 13/1 odds for Champions League glory will no doubt tempt some and one big show at Europe’s first competition wouldn’t be a big surprise.

United’s Premier League campaign kicks off on August 14 with a home game against old rivals Leeds United.

Manchester United’s odds for this lunchtime kickoff are 8/15 with Grosvenor Sport.
