Lancashire Cricket to support the Pride at Trafford festival
Lancashire Cricket is proud to support the Pride in Trafford festival, which runs from Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 May, and celebrates and explores identity and LGBTQ+ life in Trafford.
At 11am on Tuesday (17 May) morning, the pride flags will be flying high above Emirates Old Trafford on the Hilton Garden Inn and on The Point.
Lancashire Cricket captain, Dane Vilas, said: “It is massively important that, as a club, we are able to promote events like this to improve diversity and inclusion across our game, sport and society in general.
“We want to make the game of cricket inclusive for everyone and it is vitally important that people can speak up, make their voice heard and help us to stamp out discrimination – not just in cricket but in every industry and organisation.
“Equality and inclusion are something which is part of the culture and values of Lancashire Cricket, and it is hugely important that we at Emirates Old Trafford are welcoming to people from as many different areas, cultures and background so that they know that anybody can come and be part of the Red Rose.”
