Until Sunday July 18th

ROLL up, roll up … the circus is back – and what a show.

After so many months with no live entertainment, it really feels like the team behind Circus Extreme went the extra mile to put on a show to entertain fans of all ages.

It was my little boy’s first visit to the circus, and when he was three he watched in amazement as the insanely talented performers turned and swung around the big top.

The show got off to a hair-raising start with Duo Vanegas on the wheel of death. The Columbia couple making their debut in the UK will get you to the point.

The aerial duo Polischuk amazes with their stunts in the air before they hold on to their TEETH high up in the roof of the tent.

There appeared to be a technical issue with the Aerial Hoop Act – where a device did not come off the roof as intended – but the team quickly moved on to the next section of the show.

And that’s part of the charm of everything you see live, there’s always a chance something goes wrong – though luckily not with the performer hanging on the rafters

The finale, in which the extreme stunt riding team performs the Globe of Death, is a real show stopper.

Take a tightrope act with some Las Vegas showgirl glamor and Henry the Prince of the Clowns – which I promise isn’t scary at all – and there are all the elements for a great family show.

It was nice to see families having fun in the arena, with enough people to create a nice atmosphere, but no problems with the Covid rules.

Circus Extreme was recently filmed for the Amazon Prime series The Real Greatest Showmen. But you can still see the stars in the big top in front of the Trafford Center until July 18th. All the details here.
