Mason Greenwood made Luke Thomas ‘opener canceled to keep the score at halftime, but a Soyuncu header after the break ensured that Brndan Rodgers’ foxes took a big step towards Champions League qualification, all in one blow for West Ham, Liverpool and Tottenham.

While United have already guaranteed a top four finish, Man City were crowned champions on a frustrating day for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who will now have to focus on Liverpool on Thursday night.

As this was United’s second league game in three in five days, Solskjaer made a point by making 10 changes to his starting XI.

Players like Donny van de Beek, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic had rare starts, with promising youngsters Anthony Elanga and Amad Diallo helping Greenwood in attack.

With Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester still on the hunt for Champions League qualification, it was no surprise that a strong Foxes XI got off to a good start at the Theater of Dreams.

Youri Tielemans dashed over the right flank after a good through pass, and his flank on the back post was skilfully wound into the opposite upper corner by Thomas with a wonderfully controlled finish.

When it rained it looked like Leicester would take full control of the game – but United were soon even.

Amad did well to win a 50/50 fight against a long ball from Mata and feed Greenwood. The striker still had a lot to do but was able to easily beat Caglar Soyunco on the overlap before clinically crossing the finish line via Kasper Schmeichel, who could have done better.

There was nothing separating the two teams at break, but Leicester grew into the game after the break as they had more to lose in a draw.

David de Gea parried Kelechi Iheanacho at close range, but United fell asleep after a corner so Soyuncu could header from close range.

The result gave Leicester’s four biggest hopes a huge boost and also confirmed Man City as champions.
