PE-backed American Golf to open high-tech Trafford store

Warrington-based retailer American Golf is due to open a high-tech store at Trafford Golf Center next month.

The £ 650,000 overhaul includes the UK’s first digitally controlled Zen Green Stage, simulating real-life putting green slopes, as well as new, customized bays with GCQuad technology.

Up to 15 jobs will also be created in the shop.

CEO Gary Favell said, “Golf has seen a tremendous surge in popularity over the past 12 months. As it is a socially distant sport, we expect it will continue when the golf courses reopen on March 29th . “

“Golf is an inclusive sport that anyone can play. Our Trafford Store has been designed with interactive features like the Zen Green Stage and GCQuad technology to appeal to families and those who have never played before as well as seasoned professionals.”

Pete Styles, Golf Director at Trafford Golf Center added, “As the premier golf center and driving range in the north, our facilities are perfect for professionals, beginners and families.

“The exciting additions to the new store, such as the Zen Green Stage and the state-of-the-art custom fit service, will further strengthen our offering – we can’t wait for our customers to experience it for themselves.”

American Golf has been supported by the private equity firm Endless since 2018.
